| Nowadays, system availability is critical to enterprise needs. Production systems need maximum availability, to ensure best availability of system environments to all users. Upgrades are often critical, as they have negative impact to system availabilities. With Data Guard in place, chances are that you have a Physical Standby Database because that is the most popular kind. |
| Special focus of the seminar Minimize Downtime with Rolling Upgrade using Data Guard is on using that Physical Standby Database to perform Database Upgrades with minimum downtime. Starting with 10g, Logical Standby Databases offer a method to minimize the downtime related to a Database Upgrade to the time it takes to do a switchover. This Seminar covers Rolling Upgrades with Logical Standby - in place already or created for that purpose – as well as Rolling Upgrade with a present Physical Standby. Rolling Upgrade procedures, processes and its restrictions are explained. All system requirements will be covered, as well as backup and fallback procedure. No PowerPoint battle! The topics will be accompanied by many Live-Demonstrations. |
