Empower the Modern Enterprise with Oracle ERP Cloud

By Meghan Fritz-Oracle on Sep 10, 2015

Some believe the combination of a strong sales and marketing effort coupled with a product that sells itself is an ideal state for an organization. The flip side to this, from a customer’s perspective, speaks to the strength of having the right product at the right time.

Now, what if we state that such a product exists today and more than 1000 customers have purchased it - just in the last two years? Is that possible?

Yes it is! And what we’re referring to is the Oracle ERP Cloud.

We’ve mentioned Oracle Cloud previously, and also discussed the best way for VAR’s to have a discussion with CFO’s about Finance and HR, but why has the Oracle ERP Cloud appealed to so many customers in such a short period of time? Here’s why.

Why is Oracle ERP Cloud Different?
Based on 30 years of Oracle’s extensive product suite offerings and core subject matter expertise in building and implementing ERP on-premise systems, Oracle ERP Cloud is one of the most comprehensive and scalable ERP solutions available. It is purpose-built to be integrated across ERP, EPM, HCM SCM, and CX solutions. Layer in the global and industry specific needs and the offering becomes tough to beat.

Oracle ERP Cloud offers built-in features including social collaboration, contextual business intelligence, role-based dashboards and mobile applications that embed innovation and productivity directly into the user interface. When customers get real-time reporting and insight at their fingertips, they make better decisions for a true empowered workforce.

We cannot forget about security in the cloud. Oracle’s 19 global data centers have a very strong governance model. Virtual tenancy at the product level ensures complete data isolation for our customers. In addition, Oracle applies security at the database level, at the mid-tier level, and at the applications level. The data is encrypted over the wire and encrypted in a backup, enabling a powerful and secure solution.

Why Do Customers choose Oracle ERP Cloud?
There are a number of reasons that the Oracle ERP Cloud appeals to so many. These include the contemporary look and feel, the ease of use, the depth of functionality as mentioned earlier, and the wide range of proven deployments across size, scale, geography and industry. There are also key themes that resonate.

Support for Growth
– Growing businesses (pre-/recent IPOs, sharing economy firms, companies seeking digital transformation & innovation, those seeking a path to the cloud) along with small and midsize enterprises graduating to more mature ERP systems often find their existing ERP systems without the workflow automation, scalability, and financial robustness needed to support their projected growth.  When these companies want to expand their businesses globally they need sophisticated multi-currency, multi-lingual, multi-entity, localized tax, payments, and other compliance capabilities that enterprise grade ERPs can deliver. These are cost-conscious businesses that have outgrown their existing ERP systems. They may also want to integrate with an HCM or CX solution.

For the large multinational business, an ERP Cloud system that supports growth is just as paramount. But the technology provider must be able to allow for both cloud functionality and the leveraging of significant existing on-premise investments. These hybrid cloud deployments – where cloud systems are seamlessly integrated with on-premise applications – are critical learning opportunities leading to a cloud roadmap for the rest of their corporate systems over time and a big reason that Oracle’s ERP Cloud has been so successful.

Operational Efficiency – Cost continues to be the top cloud driver. So many organizations have historically relied on disparate, domain dependent systems from multiple vendors. This could lead to a complex and costly technology infrastructure, incoherent UI’s, and a lack of integration. This approach potentially locked up resources and prevented organizations from acting strategically. Oracle’s ERP Cloud delivers the CAPEX moving to OPEX benefits and goes beyond this with tangible savings coming from eliminating multiple redundant systems, streamlining business process with standard best practices, and even moving to a shared services model.

The Digital Evolution
– ERP systems can no longer be viewed as transaction processors. Customers are seeking the modern, contemporary, digitized ERP in the cloud. Decision makers need sophisticated embedded multidimensional analytics because they want real-time business insights any day during the month, rather than at a post-close cycle consolidation view. In addition, this insight has to be available via self-service access, in an easy to understand visualization, on any preferred mobile device.

Of course, millennial workers expect fast, responsive, and consumer-like user experiences, including being able to collaborate through social networking, even in a secured business context, or filling out their expense reports on their mobile devices. All with minimum or no training required. The Oracle ERP Cloud offers all of this.

A key requirement for businesses is to modernize and transform faster. Being able to integrate and extend existing on-premise IT systems with next-generation cloud services provides the extensions and helps IT focus on supporting and collaborating with the business. With Oracle’s Cloud Platform, customers can shift applications to the cloud, innovate faster, and take advantage of new markets.

Cheers,
