SAP Certified Oracle Database 12.1.0.2

SAP is now certified on Oracle Database 12.1.0.2

SAP certified Oracle Database 12.1.0.2 as of March 31, 2015!

Yes, it's true. Our colleagues in the Oracle/SAP/CompetenceCenter in Walldorf worked really hard to complete the certification for SAP with Oracle Database 12.1.0.2 But finally it happened. Actually it was announced long time before as planned. And it happened right in time.

Great job by a excellent Oracle team in Walldorf - and please no excuses anymore from anybody saying that you can't certify your application on Oracle Database 12.1.0.2. If SAP can do it, everybody can do it

**New BR*Tools Patches Now Available (with support for Oracle 12c) New!**

The new BR*Tools patches (7.20 Patch 42 and 7.40 Patch 15) are now available on SAP Service Marketplace. Patch 14 of BR*Tools 7.40 introduces full support for Oracle 12c. For more information, see SAP Notes 2087004 and 2147658.

Oracle Linux 7 Certified by SAP New!

Oracle Database 11g Release 2 and all SAP products based on SAP NetWeaver 7.x are now certified and supported on Oracle Linux 7. You can run on bare-metal Oracle Linux or in a virtualized Oracle VM environment, with a certified and supported SAP environment. For the latest Oracle Linux certification, see SAP Note2069760.

Red Hat Enterprise Linux 7 Supported for SAP on Oracle New!

Oracle Exadata X5 Certified by SAP

All SAP products based on SAP NetWeaver 7.x available on Oracle Linux 6 and certified with Oracle Database 11g Release 2 can now be used with the new Oracle Exadata Database Machine X5 in a non-virtualized setup. For more information, see SAP Note 1590515.

New Secure Connect Method

There is now a new method for the connection between SAP processes and the Oracle database. Instead of storing the encrypted password in the database, it is stored in the file system. This means that the Oracle remote OPS$ connect, which has been used up till now, is no longer needed. For more information, see SAP Notes 1622837 and 1639578.
