9 - 1 - 1 Oracle SunOS Release 5.11 ( Solaris 11.2 ) Host sendmail[911]: My unqualified host name

Los nuevos sistemas de ingeniería de Oracle, como los T4 y T5 vienen ahora con el sistema operativo pre-instalado y en la fase de encendido lo único que debemos hacer, es proveer la información básica de configuración para el equipo.

En este proceso, puede ser que obviemos alguna información que para el sistema es básica, pero que tal vez para nosotros no sea relevante, como por ejemplo, asignarle al nombre del HOST la pertenencia a un dominio.

Después de hacer el despliegue de un T4-1 SPARC sin asignarle el dominio por error, el servicio interno de mensajería envía constantemente un mensaje con el código 9-1-1 ( simbólico por supuesto ) Host sendmail[911]: My unqualified host name

Veamos como se resuelve esto:

Apenas termina el inicio del servidor, el mismo nos brinda el mensaje de error.

Al visualizar el contenido del archivo "hosts" muestra la dirección IP del servidor y su nombre; pero sin dominio.

El mensaje 9-1-1 sigue apareciendo en la consola del servidor, cada cierto de tiempo.

Ahora si, veamos como resolver el problema. Para ello vamos a utilizar el comando "svccfg" que permite manipular los datos de configuración de los servicios a nivel de sistema operativo.

Podemos tomar como sintaxis el ejemplo a continuación, en donde estamos cambiando el nombre del HOST para agregarle el dominio "localdomain.co.cr" al nombre del HOST.

Ahora sí; una vez ejecutado el cambio, vas a recibir el siguiente mensaje y el 9-1-1 ya no aparece más.
