CHICAGO – The Independent Oracle Users Group (IOUG) announces its continued commitment to serving as the user community’s leading resource for Oracle Database 12c advocacy and user-driven education. For 20 years, the IOUG has been providing the professional Oracle user with qualified and vetted perspectives on technology products, trends and best practices; leading-edge training, which leverages hands-on experience; and an advocacy channel back to Oracle.
The release of the next generation database has been eagerly anticipated and much discussed, and IOUG has heard and responded to members’ resounding requests to both influence product functionality and obtain access to the insight other users have gained through direct interaction with 12c. IOUG’s involvement in 12c beta testing is evidence of the strong and long-standing partnership between IOUG and Oracle. It also serves to reinforce IOUG’s commitment to understanding user requirements and ensuring these are communicated, all with the intent of helping to deliver a better end-product to Oracle customers.
IOUG is fully ready to support users in the migration process and has been delivering 12ceducation even prior to the official release of Oracle Database 12c. As a result of its highly engaged and influential members, the user group delivered a wealth of user-driven 12c content April 7-11 in Denver, CO at COLLABORATE 13, a technology and applications forum for the Oracle community jointly presented by IOUG, the Oracle Applications Users Group (OAUG) and Quest International Users Group (Quest). Going far deeper than just a preview of the technology, the IOUG educational sessions provided attendees with the real-world insights of other users, which they gained through direct experience with 12c. IOUG is excited about its continued focus on 12c, as well as its ongoing efforts to deliver user-driven education to members, which exemplifies one of the user group’s most distinctive benefits – the hugely valuable perspective that only other users can provide.
“A big part of the unique value of a user group is the ability to leverage the hands-on, real-world experience of other users. For Oracle Database 12c, the user community is clamoring for real-world, product insight – that perspective that only other users can provide,” said IOUG President Michelle Malcher. “IOUG is truly the best place to go if you want to engage with people who already have experience with 12c. This will be IOUG’s ongoing focus for the rest of the year, and I’m truly excited about the unique opportunity we have to facilitate the exchange of knowledge and practical information that can be immediately applied within users’ organizations.”
