This presentation will spend an hour looking at Performance Best Practices for an Exadata environment. Topics discussed will include common configuration mistakes for Exadata servers, how to monitor the database using AWR, how to review SQL statements that are causing problems using SQLTXPLAIN, tuning recomendations when using Parallel Query functionality in the Exadata environment, and some of the more common reasons that sessions might see degraded performance. This discussion will allow for a DBA to better be able to directly manage an Exadata environment, allow for better scalibility of an application by avoiding known issues, and reduce managmentoverhead by making the environment more stable.
